The Challenge
Our client is a rubbish removal business in Auckland. The work is local and often time-bound: someone is moving house, clearing a garage or finishing a renovation, and needs a price quickly.
The business wanted to find out whether Meta ads could bring in a steady flow of local jobs on a small budget. The figures on this page are from Meta only.
02
Our Approach
With a small budget to work with, we kept everything simple: one campaign, one ad set and one clear next step for the person seeing the ad.
-
Step 1
A Single Lead Generation Campaign
We launched one Meta lead generation campaign, with a single broad ad set covering the Auckland region. Keeping the structure simple suited a small budget: all of the spend went to one ad set rather than being split several ways.
-
Step 2
Send People Straight to a Quote Form
The ads sent people to a quote form on the business’s website. A lead is counted when someone completes the form and reaches the thank-you page, which gives the business the details it needs to call back with a price.
-
Step 3
A Modest, Steady Budget
After a short first week, weekly spend settled at a steady level, staying within a band of about 6% from the lowest week to the highest. That kept the test affordable and gave a clear read on what a week of leads costs.
03
The Results
In its first 32 days, the campaign delivered 129 leads at an average of $3.94 each. Over that period:
- 129 leads, 99% of them through the website quote form
- $3.94 per lead on average
Volume and cost were steady from week to week:
- The busiest full week brought in about 30% more leads than the quietest
- Every full week’s cost per lead stayed within 16% of the overall average, and the best week came in 14% below it
- The first four days of delivery ran within 1% of the overall average cost per lead
Every website lead came from someone who clicked an ad within the previous day. None of the reported leads relies on view-through attribution.
04
What These Numbers Do and Do Not Show
This is a launch result from the first month, so there is no earlier period to compare with and we make no claim of improvement over time. The website lead is counted each time the thank-you page loads, and the count has not yet been matched against the business’s form inbox, so a small number of duplicates cannot be ruled out. The daily numbers show no unusual spikes. How many leads became paid jobs is not tracked in the ad data.

Key Takeaways
-
01
Meta can work for local, time-bound jobs
This campaign reached Auckland homeowners who were not necessarily searching, and still produced a steady flow of quote-form leads.
-
02
Small budgets can produce real volume
A small, steady weekly budget produced a consistent flow of leads, with the busiest full week only about 30% ahead of the quietest.
-
03
Keep the structure simple at launch
One campaign and one ad set let the budget work without being split too thin.
-
04
Make the next step easy
A short quote form gave the business what it needed to call back with a price.
One campaign, one ad set and a short quote form brought in 129 leads at $3.94 each in the first 32 days, with the step from lead to paid job still to be measured.
