How This Calculator Works

This calculator uses a simple but effective formula to work backwards from your revenue goal to determine your ad budget:

  1. Customers Needed: Your revenue goal ÷ average job value = customers needed
  2. Leads Needed: Customers needed ÷ close rate = leads needed
  3. Ad Budget: Leads needed × cost per lead = monthly ad budget

The key variables that affect your budget are your close rate (how well you convert leads) and your cost per lead (which varies by industry and platform). Improving either of these will reduce your required ad spend.
