The Challenge
Our client is a car grooming and detailing studio in Hamilton. Detailing is easy to put off, and car owners usually want a rough idea of the price before they get in touch.
The studio wanted a steady stream of local car owners asking to book, at a cost per lead that made sense against the price of a detail.
02
Our Approach
We built the campaign around a clear offer, made asking for a booking as easy as possible, and kept the targeting local.
-
Step 1
Lead With a Clear Entry Price
The main ad led with a simple “from” starting price, so a car owner knew the starting point before they tapped. Alongside it we ran supporting creative, including a before-and-after side panel shot, social proof and a same-day convenience angle.
-
Step 2
Low-Friction Lead Capture
For the first four months the ads used Meta’s instant form, set to Meta’s higher-intent option that asks people to review their details before submitting. That let car owners ask for a booking without leaving the app they were scrolling. About four months in, the ads were switched to send people to the studio’s own website booking form instead.
-
Step 3
Local Targeting
The main ad set targeted adults living within easy driving distance of Hamilton, so the budget went on people who could realistically drop a car off.
03
The Results
Across just over six months, the campaign delivered 398 leads at an average of $11 each. Over the full run:
- 398 leads, about 81% of them Meta instant-form leads and 19% website booking-form leads
- $11 per lead on average
The first four months were the strongest stretch:
- They produced 72% of all leads, at a cost per lead 24% below the overall average
- The best month by volume delivered about a fifth (21%) of all leads, at a cost per lead 19% below the overall average
The offer creative did most of the work. The entry-price ad produced 71% of all leads at a cost per lead about 2% below the overall average, and the before-and-after side panel ad added another 20% at about 9% below it. Together, those two ads brought in about nine in ten leads.
04
What These Numbers Do and Do Not Show
Since the move to the website booking form, the campaign has produced fewer leads and each one has cost more. The most recent full month brought in 57% fewer leads than the best month, and the latest part month was lower again. From the fifth month onwards, the cost per lead was about 2.1 times the level of the first four months. We have not established why, so we report the whole run rather than only the best months. The lead counts are Meta-reported form submissions and website booking-form leads. They have not been matched against the studio’s bookings, so we cannot say how many became paid details.

Key Takeaways
-
01
Put the price in the ad
The ad with a clear “from” starting price produced about seven in ten of all leads.
-
02
Test creative, then back the winner
Several angles ran, but about 69% of the budget and 71% of the leads went to the offer ad.
-
03
Low-friction forms fill the calendar
Meta’s instant form made it easy for local car owners to ask for a booking without leaving the app.
-
04
Report the whole story
Strong early months and a weaker recent stretch both belong in the numbers.
A clear offer, an easy form and local targeting brought the studio 398 leads at $11 each, with the strongest results in the first four months and the weaker recent stretch reported alongside them.
